Scrap Wood Organizing Solution

When it comes to our garage, the main source of clutter tends to be the insane amount of scrap wood that is piled up in bins.. and on the floor. Well, or so it was the case. Here is our simple solution on how to get your scrap wood organized quickly and efficiently, making it easier to re-use in future projects! You can view the full post over on my blog.
Our scrap wood was previously stored in multiple bins, but there were so many different sizes of wood that I would empty out the bins each time trying to find what I need.

We then came up with a super simple {and affordable} solution that can be used temporarily or made permanent. I didn't want to just toss the wood inside, instead I wanted a simple way to compartmentalize some of the wood types. I didn't need anything fancy, just something that would get the job done
We used 2 pieces of scrap wood measured at 17 3/4. One piece of scrap wood was already this size and worked perfect so we just made another piece the same size.

Honestly just shoving the 2 pieces of wood down into the trash can at a criss-cross worked pretty well. It wasn't super sturdy, but it was sturdy enough and would definitely get the job done. Even so the hubs wanted to go ahead and use the jigsaw to cut out a section of the wood so that they would joint together in the middle, creating a stronger bond.
Then the scrap wood went inside the different compartments. Easy peasy.
The trash can is on wheels making it easy to move around the garage which is nice too.
A label was also added to the lid as a reminder to upcycle the scrap wood for future projects. You can view the full post over on my blog.
