…The Itsy Bitsy Spider Climbed Up the Picture Frame…

This year for Halloween decorations, I decided I really wanted to make some fun items and really focus on what I had on hand. This is a fun way to use a thrifted frame or even a dollar store frame. I had this frame and it had just been sitting around so i decided to use it to make a Halloween spider frame. So, with about .50 cents out of pocket cost I had fun making this Itsy Bitsy Spider frame.Super easy, quick and thrifty!
This was such a fun piece to make. It was so easy and I love that I spent under $1.00!
I was cleaning out my stash of thrift finds and I found this fun frame. I had bought it at 50% off the marked price of $1.91. I thought I could do something with for Halloween.
First things I needed to do was paint it black. I had some black craft paint already so I painted it quickly with no trip to a store to purchase anything.
Digging into craft supplies I already had, I looked for something to use as the background to the picture. i found a package of foam glitter sheets that I had picked up from the dollar store last year for a different project. I selected the green glittery sheet. I cut a piece of cardboard to glue the foam to so it would be stiffer.
I glues 3 large spiders onto the frame. I picked them up at Goodwill but, they are also available to Family dollar.
Last touch was adding some fake spider webbing. One bag of this stuff from the dollar store will last you forever! I am using the same bag that I bought 3 years ago and keep in my Halloween crafting stash! I did use a little hot glue here and there to hold the web in place.
That's it! I spent the .49 cents for the spiders at Goodwill and the rest of the supplies I already had on hand. In my opinion Halloween is a holiday you can just be silly with. there is no right way or wrong way of doing these kinds of projects. Just have fun! in my blog post that shows each step, I included a fun spider web placemat I bought for a $1.00 into the cost of this project.
