Cubby Organizer Makeover

As a Homeright Brand Ambassador, we often accept challenges to makeover everyday furniture items with our Finish Max. This was a regular "run of the mill" laminate cubby organizer. It was a closet maid, but could easily have been an expedit or kallax.
This is the "after". I added some wood pieces to the side and the front, in addition to adding chunky feet on the bottom to make this all come together.
This is the before, the way the shelf cubby looked after I assembled it. During assembly, I secured the regular parts using some Gorilla wood glue to make the unit more sturdy.
I beefed up the front with some small wooden pieces.
I also added some good on the sides, securing with the Gorilla wood glue and my nail gun.
off to the Homeright Spray Shelter for the Finish Max treatment. tip spray the bottom first.
Raising your pieces off the ground (I use sawhorses) allows a better angle for using a Finish Max and it's much easier on your back.
I decided to use some chunky (yard sale) feet to raise it off the floor.
