Richard, what do you do with your tomatos? Do you can them, eat them on salads and sandwiches or cook with them or all of the above? Take a look at this site - http://www.totallytomato.com/

Richard, if you want an easy variety to grow, the cherry tomatoes are geat also the yellow pear shaped that are the same size as the cherry, 'Sweet 100's". Heirlooms are not as pretty but many people love the taste, the site that FSN directed you to should have all of these.

It can be very daunting making choices from all the varieties of tomatoes out there, Richard. You'll find some varieties recommended by the University of Georgia Extension Service in this article: http://www.caes.uga.edu/publications/pubDetail.cfm?pk_id=7803#Varieties

  • For all around use I've always liked Celebrity...we grew some Yellow Boy this past summer and while they weren't extremely prolific they were consistent & delicious and we picked the last one in mid November

Richard, just to give you more choices, the 2012 Seed Savers Exchange catalogue is a beautiful four color catalogue with lots of heirloom varieties of seeds. www.seedsavers.org
