Halloween Mason Jars

Mason jars are one of my favorite things to craft with. You can paint them to create any look you would like or just use them as is and they complement any style.
I started with plain mason jars and then started painting...and kept going.
I did a base coat of white paint on two of the jars after first washing them, drying them and wiping them with cotton balls soaked in alcohol. This is an important step to make sure the paint adheres well.
To one of the jars I used a base of Decoart orange. Once my base coat was dry I used FrogTape to seal off a portion of one of the jars to paint orange lines and for the others I used a spouncer to add polka dots.
I also painted the metal rims to match to obtain a cohesive look.
Next I added flowers, a scrapbook pennant, a pom pom spider and some fairy lights. You can find out all of the other details plus some more mason jar inspiration on my blog. http://cupcakesandcrinoline.com/?s=mason+jars and the details of this project at the link below.
