A Little DIY Orchid Box With a Personal Touch of Family Photos

Honestly I was not planning on making this. I am working on another project and I am on the last step, which calls for mod podge (decoupage) and I have NEVER done this. I was scared of it, so I thought I would practice.
I'm sitting in the garage while Evan (my 2 year old) is riding his bike and I see the little stem of orchids I bought at a yard sale for $1! BINGO! I NEED to make a box for it!!!!
So with nothing but left over scrap wood, I chalk paint that beautiful blue, distress, mod podge my pictures on there, and piece it all together.
The orchid stem needed something, it did not have any leaves, so I went out to my magnolia tree borrowed a few leaves, put varnish on them (hoping it will preserve the color), and hot glue them on.
For $2 I was very pleased how it came out! What do you think???

(side note: I LOVE orchids but cannot get one to stay a live in this part of the living room, but love the look of one on the coffee table)
