Has anyone ever made a murphy style desk out of a pantry cabinet

I am looking to make a craft room as well as use for two people as office. The space I have is 8'8" on one wall. If I could use a pantry on top of the counter and re purpose the doors so when I fold down it would use part as legs and part just for looks. I am thinking I may have to install plywood on doors to keep them together as well as provide stability.
I have a 10 foot ceiling in the room as well.

It sounds like you have it all planned out well.... just a matter of doing it. However, being a crafter and knowing the mess that's always showing when I'm in the middle of a project, I would like to suggest that you use the cabinet for crafting, as that way, it can be closed up when working on crafts. It would probably be a lot neater for the desks to be out in the room. However, without a picture, it's difficult to tell if you're talking about just a cabinet, or a room with a pantry cabinet. ???? Can you attach a photo for us to see?

If I'm picturing this correctly, I would think, unless the pantry is very at least 60" wide, the doors would not be big enough to be legs for a table. Or were you thinking more of something like this..... https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/10/00/d6/1000d6b6a1e594de1c6e6ed421587f93.jpg

Hi Tammy, would you please add a picture or two so that the present setup of the room would be more clear?

Tammy, I had an old dining room drop leaf table. I cut it in half and mounted the half table on the wall. The drop leaf comes out when I need more space. Just a suggestion. susen
