Put Your Face in A Book: Painted Silhouettes on Book Pages

30 Minutes
Easy
Do you have an old book lying around? Did your dog (or child) rip out the pages from your favorite novel and you'd like to find some way to save it forever? If you're like me, inspiration can strike at any corner. I grabbed a discarded book off the floor at my college years ago and have held on to it ever since knowing someday it would have a craft purpose. I have finally found the use! I decided to put my husband and I's silhouettes...in the book! Check out more projects like this at www.diyjustcuz.com
The before - book pages. I know some people might not like using books for projects but I see it this way: either it sits in my closet collecting dust or it becomes something I can display on my wall. Which would you choose?
First take profile pictures. Try your best to face exactly perpendicular to the camera.
Cut out your picture. Make sure to cut all the intricate details of your face and body - these are the things that make you unique! It's surprising how much a silhouette can look like you with all of these little quirks.
Trace around the cut out image onto the book pages using a pencil.
Very carefully paint in the silhouette. I chose to use a beautiful purple because it looked nice against the white pages but any color will do.
Find some way to display your gorgeous silhouettes! I chose to put them above my bed using washi tape "frames". I like to look at this with my husband and joke with him that we are "never on the same page" (get it?).
