Has anyone cut a memory foam mattress from king to twin size?

Most memory foam mattresses aren't just a sold foam pad. Some contain an inner foam section and support devices to keep the mattress in shape. So unless you know what is inside of the mattress itself, I would say no. However, if it js just one of those pads that sits on top of a regular mattress, then yes you can. I have done it myself with an old memory foam topper and used it for other things when it was no longer good to use on the bed we had.

I personally think the foam will shred, however if you can no longer use it for the king try it anyway use have nothing to lose.

Have not cut down a mattress, but if foam is solid, electric carving knives have been recommended for cutting foam. It will hopefully leave a smoother cut than most other things you could use.

I have done this! Use a sharpie marker to make lines. Then an electric carving knife that you would use to carve a roast. I would get someone to help you so you don't cut anything below, like a floor or table.

I have cut down foam, but not memory foam. I agree with everyone else. Make sure it doesn't have a gel core or something of that nature, mark your line, use an electric knife - which works perfectly for foam. You will find it easier if you stand it up rather than trying to cut it on the floor, if you can get people to hold it so it doesn't bend.

Electric carving knife if you're sure it's solid. Cuts thru like butter.

I did. I used a chalk marker and measured it off and then used my electric carving knife. It turned out perfect and has never crumbled after 4 years.

I have cut down a queen size to a twin. It had a dense foam base with memory just on the top. I didn't have an electric knife so I used a serrated knife. To keep the cut straight I use my 48" T square moving it from one end to the other to cover the whole length.
