DIY Beach Wall Art From Pallet

I have this wall in my twins bathroom, right above the toilet and urinal, and it was screaming for something. Since they have a sea/beachy theme going on in there, I decided to do this. I just used some scrap wood that I had laying around, but this is the perfect project for old pallet boards.

For this project you will need:

(2) 2x4 sections

(5) 1x6 pallet board sections

hemp rope

letters

decoupage

craft paper

stain of choice

white paint or pickling stain

paint brush

Loctite
Drill holes in ends of 2x4 (for specifics see full article)
stain boards
Apply paint wash (see details on full article)
Add detailing
Assemble pieces
Insert rope and create knots.
Supplies for letters.
Paper the letters with craft paper and decoupage.
Attach letters using Loctite.
Hang - Make sure that you are mounting to a stud. This is a solid piece that has a bit of weight. It looks very substantial and is a definite focal point.

I like the beach theme, but any theme can be used. Just change the letter and the craft paper.
