How do you whitewash a fireplace?

Half water, half paint. Used old towel to dobb paint on (including grout lines). It was easier to control amount of paint and consistency with old towel (then just throw away towels). Love, love the final (also, husband liked after final) !

Hi Chelsea. Yes! The Brick Anew paint system is specially formulated to make a previously painted fireplace a breeze to conceal. Thanks for asking!

It looks GREAT! What type of paint and what color did you use for the greyish shade?

It's absolutely stunning! This is the worst "before" and the best "after" I've EVER seen in a fireplace re-do. Painting it a simple neutral color would have been a wonderful improvement, but your work is exquisite. Can't imagine your joy and pride, nor the shock of family and friends who saw the original blue. Amazingly beautiful!
