How to make a built in bunk bed?

How would one go about to make a built in bunk bed?
There are sooo many free plans on line, but I am not sure what would be the easiest way to do it. We want to make a built in model from floor to roof for two kids. And has to be walls all way around, with smaller openings in front. The purpous is to give the kids as much privacy as possible. Kids are girl 8 and boy 5. Any tips?
Is it easier to buy a cheap finished bunk bed and build further in that?

that would be the cheapest way, but one from a store. Then build around it. You can find them in a 2 x 4 style. which would make it easier to work with.

I think at Anna White.com you will find a bunk bed plan and all the info you will need. Then you can add your own touch to it!! She has 100s of plans, and also a list of what to buy and what to cut. Nice to have someone like her that shares her expertise!!

I like the idea of getting one from the store and then modifying it to suit your needs. I have found that I cannot ever find something that is exactly what I want so I have to modify. Also I am not considered a carpenter so if I get something that gives me a starting point I am better off.

I would purchase a store bought version then build on it to meet your specifications for the space.

I saw such a cool design that was not actually a bunk bed set up but a square platform lower bed and a fold down top bed suspended from wall you can definately make the areas private but cool
