How to make a living plant picture frame.

I had a shadow box which was laying around for a few years. I'd look at it and think about what I could do with it and then my daughter mentioned wanting to plant succulents in a frame to hang in the house. I said, "I have the exact right thing - a shadow box!". So that's how it started.... making an living art picture frame.
Here is the shadow box. I turned it upside down so that the glass is on the back side. The soil rests on the glass. You'll see how it works.
Here is the succulent potting soil.
Moss is laid on top of the soil and then chicken wire holds the whole thing together. I used a staple gun to hold the chicken wire down.
I made holes with a knife.
And added the little succulents.
Walah!

Excellent idea! I'm going to do this, but I think I'm going to spray the wire same color as moss.

I love this idea and the perfect place for it will be on the wall as you enter our courtyard! It will be protected by direct sun and the frost. Thank you!!
