Vintage DIY Etched Christmas Ornament With Etchall

It is amazingly easy to create your own custom Christmas ornaments by etching them yourself! This is a fun and easy project that even young children can help with.
To start with grab your supplies; etchall Etching Creme, Etchmask, glass ornament, ribbon, rhinestones, and any embellishments you would like to add.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut my Etchmask. To make sure I get the mask centered on my project I like to trace over the cut with a marker. Apply transfer paper to the top of the mask, then remove the backing paper to apply the mask to the ornament. Be sure that the mask is adhered firmly before removing the transfer paper. Remove the mask to expose the are you want ETCHED - leave the rest of the mask in place.
Apply etching creme to the surface in a nice thick layer. Don't worry about "wasting" the creme; etchall is reusable! After 15 minutes, scrape the creme back into the jar and then rinse the ornament clean. .
Because I wanted to color this design, I was careful not to rub up the edges of the mask while I was rinsing the creme off. Dry the surface well and allow to air dry for a few minutes.
I used Tsukineko Brillance ink to color the etched surface. Because it has been etched, the surface has "tooth" now and will hold the color. I used my heat gun to help dry the ink and then set it aside for a few hours to make sure it was dry.
I added a few details with a white pen and rhinestones, then added ribbon and some embellishments to finish it off. That's it! I know it seems like a lot of steps, but it is amazingly easy! I hope you give it a try.
