We have a gap at the top of our garage door. Is this something that we can adjust on our own?

Hi Jennifer. The door needs to be checked to be sure it's plum. If not, that's your answer. If it is plum, you can get a screw on rubber strip, like for screen doors, and help close off that gap. There is a reason for the gap but some folks don't like it. It's for ventilation purposes, exhaust fumes and fuel fumes that could combust if built up. So make your best decision for your family and your garage door.

Hate to sound dire, but don't do ANYTHING if it involves those big heavy springs! They can be DEADLY if they come loose. Call a garage door installer...they are usually great at adjusting older doors to correct problems.

My husband and I both mistakenly started backing out of the garage, but forgot to raise the door first.....or raised it, but then forgot it was already raised and mashed the button and it went down.....so we hit the garage door, making it slightly bent. Husband tried using a hammer to straighten....well, that did not exactly work....So we bit the bullet and called the garage door installer. Happy happy!

Dealing with a garage door gap is much easier than eliminating those gaps. Most of the people take the help of experts because filling these gaps by our own is not an easy task.I was also suffering from the same issue with my door hence I took help from Atlanticoceangroup professionals.More details are available at http://atlanticoceangrp.com .
