DIY HO HO Plaid Pillowcase

Too many cute pillows out for the Christmas Season had me wanting to add them all to my shopping cart this year. Though I would love to pick up every pillow I LOVE, that's just not possible. Most pillows out there are about $30-$40 and if you're adding 4-5 new pillows to your couch, that's about $120!!! CRAZY! So I really wanted to create something for my bedroom that added that touch of Christmas without having to spend tons of money on purchasing brand new pillows.

So after I came across really adorable ones at Homegoods, I decided to attempt to make ones very similar, but then add some adorable HOHO monogram to them. So, I found some great fabric over at Hobby Lobby and white felt I decided to try out my hand sewing skills. (I can't use a sewing machine) If you can sew on a machine this would probably take you 1/2 the time as it did, but I really did enjoy hand sewing these.

Cut fabric slightly larger then previous pillowcase. Once cut, begin to sew together on reverse sides. After watching a good Hallmark Christmas movie I got these pillowcases done and cut a slit into back of pillow and reversed the pillowcase. Once reversed put the pillowcase onto your pillow and then begin your HO HO letters. Find stencil or print out and create your own stencil. Cut letters out and add to pillowcase with hot glue. and that's all! Super easy and fun Christmas project that cost me $15!!!

See the best silk pillowcases on the market right now.

Love the blue and green with my decor but feel free to create these with any fabric of your choice!
