DIY Candle Holder

I absolutely LOVE minimal decor and Scandinavian design but I DO NOT love the price tag that often comes with these decor items. I was inspired to make this candle holder as a gift after seeing it in one of my favorite catalogs. This candle holder makes a great centerpiece or even and Advent candle!!
I started with 1 extra large doll head, and 4 large doll head from the craft store. They are flat on the bottom so that helps them stay upright. I also uses several different sized wood beads, with holes already pre-drilled in them.
For the larger doll heads that would become my candle holders, I predrilled a hole all the way through, then used a spade bit to make the hole big enough to hold a taper candle.
After everything was drilled and ready to go I threaded each piece onto leather cording in a pattern I was happy with then knotted each end. I stuck my taper candles in and made sure they were a snug fit.

I love how it turned out!! I left the wood raw because I dig it but you could certainly paint them any color you'd like before threading them onto the cording.

Pretty easy DIY Gift right? gift

Very dangerous! What keeps the wooden balls from starting on fire if one forgets to watch them? Secondly, what happens if the whole thing tips over?

For the sake of safety, instead of a straight line, leave a little more space between pieces and arrange in a circle. Love the concept!
