A Winter Woodland Christmas

I knew when we moved into an old schoolhouse this past summer that decorating it for Christmas would be both fun and challenging. It is hard when you have had a place for everything and you have to find all new places for your favorite Christmas things. Plus, I decided to change my theme to a winter woodland theme. But, I am happy with the end results. Join me for a tour.
I focused most of my decorating in the great room area.
These are some pictures from before we moved into the schoolhouse.
I used reds and whites and tans for my tree, making most of my ornaments. Check out my blog to see the how tos on those.
We had bought a new 71/2' tree after Christmas last year. Little did we know that we would be moving into a home with 12 foot ceilings. To make the tree taller, I put it on an old wagon.
I added Christmas photos to my gallery wall. I put H's by my round mirrors to spell out ho ho ho. My silly dog always loves to get in my pictures.
A bowl of lights and pinecones sprinkled with essential oils smells delicious.
A simple card holder made from twigs from my yard hangs on my kitchen door that leads to the mudroom.
The stockings are hanging NEAR the chimney with care. They are hanging off some antlers placed on the floor of the library.
I made simple wreaths with cuttings from our yard to hang on the 80 year old windows in the great room.
A simple centerpiece made with firewood and more clippings from my yard. Details on the blog.
I have two porches. The main porch is not used much because there is no walkway to it (yet) so I kept it simple.
The breezeway porch is cheery.
