Need a fun and cute way to decorate for Christmas and make cherished memories too!!!? Well this is what I came up with. I borrowed the hand and feet reindeer design from pinterest. And used placemats (I found at Goodwill for $1 a piece) to make quick pillows for the holidays.
So first came the fun part of realizing I didn't have brown paint so my 7 year old and I mixed our own :) Then came the fun painting of feet and and hands to make the cute reindeer. We did a finger prints for the red nose. Adorned them with googly eyes and bow ties, but my 4 year old insisted he wanted something in his reindeer antlers so I came up with ribbon mistletoe.
So to make your pillows, take a seam ripper and open the placemat on one side, large enough to stuff your pillow... Add your stuffing and then just slip stitch your hole closed.
The opposite side of the placemat has a small scarecrow, so next year at Thanksgiving we will do a handprint turkey and use them as reversible pillows for Thanksgiving and Christmas! I love making memories!!!!
