  • Barbara, there are several places in which to purchase vinyl trims. Are you looking for something for over a door or window? Fypon trims are plastic that are designed to look like wood. Many are groups of trims put together to look like one single piece of wood. Much like you would find over a old colonial home. A dealer in your area that sells this brand trim is: Robert Bowden Inc.-Mcdonough 190 Westridge Industrial Blvd Mcdonough GA 30253 Phone: 678-818-4000 Fax: 770-425-5113 You can pretty much go to any lumber yard with a sketch of what your looking to do and they can either find a completed kit for your home, or provide you with products in which you can design your own shape according to your own dimensions. If your looking for just plain vinyl siding trims in a special color. Any roofing and siding supplier can provide this for you, but remember sometimes it very hard to change out vinyl trims without removal of all the siding that surrounds the trim piece because of the way its fastened onto the home. Also remember the fading color that is replaced will stand out quite a lot once its changed. If all your concerned about is the fading, and the trim is in good shape, You can purchase paints that will adhere to the vinyl trim so all you need to do it paint it. Hope this helps.

i am looking for new trim around the glass in my front door.no big box or lumber yard in my area sells this. what to do?i don't think i should have to replace a perfectly good door.old trim is split in several place due to sun cooking it. that problem is now solved. thanks for your help. barbara
  • Any good quality carpenter can replicate door trims. Everything can be done but at some point you need to determine the value of this repair against the cost of another complete door so you do not put more into it then a new door is worth. In any case glad you got it figured out.
