Need help identifying a bush!

My Mother-in-law lives in Alabama and has a small bush in her yard that the leaves start all grren then theunder sides turn purple. It also has small purple blooms that are very thin and hang down?? Has a picture but it is on her phone and it is not any help for detail :(. Any ideas??
