What's the best way to disguise huge mirror closet doors?

My daughter HATES the very large mirrored closet doors in her room and I pretty much agree. Her father is a realtor and thinks they're great and doesn't want anything permanent done to them. I get that, she should be moving out in the very near future, but in the meantime I'm trying to do something with them for her. We've got curtain panels that she loves but nothing we try gets them to stay in place. I've heard liquid starch works like wallpaper paste, but I can't find any locally. I think she'd probably like it if we painted them with chalk board pain but I'm wondering how easily that would come off if it sat for a year or so. I'm open to other suggestions as well other than removing them because we have no place to store this big guys.

You can use a washable paint, and she will enjoy helping and after you have a layer of that you can put photos and other things just with simple scotch tape..And for curtains you can apply them with a hot glue gun, it will be a little work to get the glue off later..but not too bad!!..You can also use window or wall clings sold st most dollar stores.

what about using some painters tape and doing a design like a chevron pattern, or anything fun and just using regular craft paint. Paint will scrape off with a razor blade later down the road should you need to take it off for resale purposes.

I would leave the mirror and find a lot of decals I would like and make a scenic type picture, jungle theme, old farm house and field, animals etc. Easy to remove when the time comes.

How about fabric? You could staple it to the direct top of the door and just let it hang, you would never see the staple holes and not do any permanent damage

Home depot sells the stick on rolls generally used as privacy for windows, however it could be a good temporary disguise without a lot of work.

I humbly suggest a roll of frosted style peel and stick vinyl. It can be cut in simple shapes and make the mirrors feel a bit less overwhelming in the room. 2 ideas off the top of my head. Cover the whole door and remove an oval from the middle, like a picture frame or make a grid of squares/rectangles with rounded corners. One could use any color, but it popped into my mind to use a "frosted" look.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm going to run them past her. My guess is she'll try the hot glue on the curtains she bought to cover up the doors. That seems like the best solution, I'll post a photo when they're done!

Before using hot glue I'd call a glass company to see if the heat would cause damage to the mirrors. What about double side sticky tape as way to hold curtains.

What about adhearing the curtain material with mod podge? I've seen it done on here and looked great. When ready just pull off and wash the mirrors.

Stencil it. An allover wall stencil in a Morrocan design, for instance? Then you could stencil one wall in the room with the same design, or maybe stencil the same wall making the closet doors flow in with the wall.

Two things spring to mind. 1) try fabric cover applied with laundry starch or 2) maybe put some sheer fabric over to still allow light reflection and givee impression of a window. ??
