Thank you so much for answering my question. I am making chalkboard trays with handles and someone asked me if I could do the magnetic board as well. Thank you I am going to give it a try.

Speaking of magnetic paint, I have looked at various craft stores as well as home depot and lowes and I can't find Magnetic Spray paint anywhere. Does it actually exist?
Our little shop made custom chalk boards/magnetic boards. We used the Rust-0-leum brand. I found that the magnetic portion is strong enough to hold a magnetic button, BUT, not strong enough to hold a paper to the board. Just our experience. Maybe a different brand will give different results.
A lot of times the magnetic paint needs to be applied in multiple coats. It basically contains "metal" and a "critical mass" amount is needed before the magnets will stick.

Rustoleum Magnetic wall primer paint , you can do any color after the primer
