Shower Door Swing

I am trying to hang a shower door, and it says that hinges should be where the spray from the shower head goes. Is this true? For my project, I can't hang the door that way because it makes more sense going in and out hanging the door with the handle where the spray goes. Let me know which way is recommended and reasons. Thanks.

I have seen shower doors that were installed both ways, but I have never installed one myself, so I can't offer any other insight.

There is no set rule on this. But ideally you want the door to protect against splashing when it opens. But doing anything that works for you is fine.

Without any other information, you want to install the door so you can reach the control valve and turn the water on without having to step in the shower. Hopefully the shower is set up so the head does not spray directly on the door but rather the door gets hit with "splash" spray only.
