Memory Quilt

One of Kristina's coworkers wanted a memory quilt made from her grandfathers shirts. We have only quilted doll blankets or dog blankets but I was willing to give it a try.
I cut the shirts into squares of the same size. then coordinated them into the pattern I wanted.
Then I sewed the squares together.
Once I had all my rows done, I then sewed the rows together
carefully match the seems so that your corners come out correctly.
Once you have all your strips sewn together, iron that puppy! add it to your backing fabric with some batting and then quilt (sew) it all together.
Eventually you end up with this lovely quilt full of memories!

Beautiful remembrance of a special family member. I have also seen pillows made with the smaller pieces. More remembrances for more family members.

@Jemma Dee We made a few items from these shirts but yes, the more items you can make the more love you can share!
