No linen Closet: Where to store towels, sheets and blankets?

Question

New condo has plenty of closets but no linen closet; where can I store linens and still keep them fresh? Dresser drawers lead to smelly towels.

There are several examples of towel storage for bathrooms on Hometalk (i.e. baskets, shelves, etc.). As for sheets and blankets, I would suggest an under the bed drawer either a plastic one bought at the store or an old dresser drawer with wheels placed on it for easy manuevering.

My Mother had the same problem, she would buy the plastic container with wheels on them. She would put the twin sheets under the twin bed, queen under the queen bed, etc. Towels, roll them up and put them in crates, straw baskets attached over the towel racks:0) Soooo many ideas.

@Ruth S have you thought of a basket in the bathroom with the extra towels rolled inside it. Could also place wicker baskets with towels and linens on the top shelf of a closet. We have a small dresser in our bathroom for towels and toilet paper etc. - no problems with smell. Also have one in the kitchen which was repurposed, now room for linens, the common junk drawer and with the bottom two drawers taken away we have room for a mail filing system. I see that this is from 2013, but for anyone else with the same problem; Ruth S. says that she has plenty of closets but no linen closet. How about turning one of them into a linen closet by buying an inexpensive tall bookshelf which will fit into one of the closets.
I have very limited closet space and have done this. I am able to store sheets, coverlets and towels on the shelves. Comforters which are not being used I store in a trunk.
