How to create a colorful and family-friendly backyard

Now that spring is here, and the weather is nicer, the yard is calling my name. This year, my goal is to create a family-friendly space that is inviting – should we have company over this coming summer – and to create a space that is serene and comfortable for me to retreat to, but also colorful and fun for the kids to play in andhelp maintain.
It just so happens that we are in the middle of spring cleaning, which is perfect timing for this fun, decorative upcycled planter idea for the kids. I'll be pulling all of last years' rain boots for this project and go looking for pai

We have the perfect tree for an outdoor swing! With a piece of sanded (and possibly painted) upcycled wood, rope and ribbon, all of the kids can enjoy this peaceful and beautiful swing in the yard.

It has always been a dream of mine to create a stone walkway leading to the tree with the swing. But it has to be dreamy looking... This is a perfect way to trim the stones while adding color and incorporating useful herbs and plants.

One of my goals for spring is to plant a kid-friendly garden – and allow the kids to help maintain it! Gardens are a great excuse to get kids outdoors, in the fresh air, and as a tool to help them build their confidence.

    Dear Creater,

Since a few weeks my mother has a seasoning garden. She wants to name the herbs to help her remember wich herb is wich. Recently I found your pin with a very cute and delicate solution we (my sister and I) would like to make/buy for her. It's about de stones with I guess chalk. Now our question is where did you buy those stones. We can't find it if we google it. Could you help us any further? At first thanks for the inspiration, secondly thanks in advance for helping us out!

    Friendly regards,
    Frederieck & Marieke
