Husband installed 100 feet drainage tube from backyard to front yard several years ago. Still have swampy, muddy mess & filthy dogs! Desperately want deck or some sort of entertainment area, but afraid it will be ruined due to swampland. What should we do?!

Can you add a few pictures to the post so we can see what your area looks like? Have you had a professional take a look at it?

  • We had the same issue. My husband made me a beautiful dry riverbed. It took care of most of the issues we had with standing water. I would divert the water by making a slope & then you could build your deck. I have had more compliments on my yard from the riverbed.

Haven't had anyone look at it. Do I gave a landscaper, contractor?? If we build a deck or do a porch, will it sink because of the Swampland? I will take pics - once it stops snowing. . . Again.

A professional should help you address the drainage issues and come up with a plan to give you a long-lasting deck.
