Any ideas what to do with an old copper boiler with the lid? It was my Grandma's and I would like to do something with it.

They are fabulous for storage of items as Marion suggested, magazines, pet toys, even rolled towels in a bathroom, or they are stunning on a porch with flowers or ferns in them. I've seen them filled with pine cones in the autumn on porches, and evergreens and red berries for Christmas. They are just gorgeous. I've been on the hunt for one in flea markets and antique bazaars, but they are expensive! You are very lucky to have a family treasure of your very own! :0)

If it is large enough put drainage holes and make a planter out of it.

some of those are worth some money, I'm told. And if it was your Grandma's, I think I would hang on to it.

Would look great by a fireplace to store kindling or even firewood stacked on end. I have one also but no fireplace.i am thinking of storing rolled magazines or coffee table books in it or mounting it in the bathroom on the wall with the lid hinged so it opens down for extra storage like toilet paper or even on the floor to hide cleaning supplies or a plunger and brush.

I would keep it indoors for storage of throws or magazines. Personally I wouldn't alter it because then it loses its integrity.

Would use it indoors and depending on it's size, put magazines, fireplace logs, etc. Anything could be stored in it. Would also be cute with a throw or quilt and a doll/teddy bear.
