Prunning Clerodendrum

I live in zone 10 in southwest Florida. My Clerodendrum was very happy, growing & blooming profusely when all of a sudden leaves started turning yellow & it seemed to 'stop' growing & very little flowering. Any ideas of what I need to do?

There are many types of Clerodendrums, Gay. Do you have the vine form or the shrub form? Yellowing leaves generally indicate a nutrition issue. Do you fertilize at all? How much light does it get? You might want to get a soil test done (check with you local extension office) as pH can affect a plant's ability to take in nutrients.

Thanks for getting back to me. My Clerodendrum is a climber. It's been planted for about 6 months and was doing quite well. Yes, I use Miraclegrow as a fertilizer & usually do it every few months or so. Sometimes more often.......you know the drill.......ooopppss I think I better fertilize.... It gets full sun all day & seemed to love it. I'll have the soil checked, but it seems odd that the soil would change so drastically. But you never know!?!

Try switching to a good slow-release fertilizer like Osmocote. Your soil wouldn't have changed in the time since you planted; it would have taken awhile for the effects to be seen in the plant.
