http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/spr/59902757/ I have this soda from Ikea. I love the simple lines. Its goes with all type of styles. The best thing it is slip covered making it is to change color to match with your style.

If you have country-styled furniture you might want to stick with some lines in the new sofa that are a little more basic as compared to curvy. My favorite style is a traditional Lawson sofa. Google sofa styles and see what appeals to your decorating and what might compliment your other country items. Not knowing if your description of country is more along primitives or French country, this style goes well with just about anything.

Ivory sofas if the cushions can be washed.I had an ivory leather sofa for 25 years and 4 kids.loved it,had to give it away, but loved the color.when I sat on it ,I felt like I was floating on a cloud.very relaxing.

My best suggestion to you is go neutral and simple. Beige, taupe, ivory is your best bet- as styles change, you can always repaint your room, change out the drapes and rugs but the couch is a pretty big statement piece in any room that remains constant for years. Slipcovered is the way to go, especially in country style decor. Easy to care for, just pull off the covers and throw them in the wash. You change the style for the seasons with decorative throws and pillows.

I have a light sage green sofa and loveseat and apartment dark brown carpeting. I also used burgandy to highlight, then I brought in cream. Looks nice!

Go with a beige slip covered sofa-Crate and Barrel/Pottery Barn/Boston Interiors all have them. Traditional styles and neutral colors go with any style, color, room scheme. You can change colors, seasons, wash them, and live with them if you have children. If I could lift mine up and hug it, I would. Neutral is your answer.

the lawson style sofa, as mentioned above is a favorite of mine. it's easy to sew a cover for it...or just tuck one in place. it has straight lines, and find one with the square sofa back cushions- purchase a sofa with a medium color neutral fabric. the cushions on mine come off and i can use seasonal (or not) fabrics to "gift wrap' the cushion...using safety pins not tape. you can also find sleeper sofas in the lawson style.

I would go with a Wingback style sofa, for that would tie into your decorating style. As far as color, go with a light to medium neutral color, so if you ever change your color palette, your sofa will automatically go with it.
