I'd like to express my appreciate for the opportunity to be involved on this website. While I am a Pro, I am not a Pro at everything .. but often times have an opinion like everyone else! *grin* What I think is a bonus/value that I was not anticipating is learning MYSELF from the questions posed and the other Pros that are here to answer. YeahH! Glad to be here .. love learning from others and very much appreciate the diverse opinions and ideas shared here!

BeckySue I'm with you. Hey that rhymes/ HaHa I really like this site. I'm a pro at somthings, but in spite of the fact that I at times come off as a "know it all" I don't know everything. So many good experts in all the various subjects discussed on here. I always learn somthing.
  • I agree, I've learnt so much from Hometalk as well and I feel confident that I will find answers, suggestions and advise from other pro's when I don't know something.
  • BeckySue I agree with you as well. I find giving back in this way not only helps others it allows be to use my brain and all the research materials that I have accumulated over the past 40 years or so. It also keeps my business's on top of the ever changing methods of industry that would otherwise be doing the same old thing. I have learned a ton of things from doing this and hopefully I have helped others as well.
  • Agreed as well. even though I have been doing this professionally for almost 20 years, I still learn a whole bunch from coming here. I even learn things that I thought I knew lol!
  • You will also find a really good group of resources that you will be proud to refer. The ideas you can get, what you learn and the networking is amazing.
  • The folks on Hometalk are a different breed , very special.

Becky- I have learned some better ways to promote our business based on how you have presented your site. I like the way you offer social media as a way to connect and share ideas from your website.

I will have something up similar by the end of the week. I have a page up right now but it does not explain what the benefit of each link is right now.
  • Hope all are well! Been busy working a bunch....Happy New Year & a successful 2012 to all. You're right, social marketing is key....we'll be working on that as well this year.
  • That is what HomeTalk is all about. I know where to turn to find answers, like what kind of glue to use on a project. I have made some wonderful friends and found a great group of people to work with. I have also learned the value of the Social Media for business. My husband had been trying to get me into this Century! LOL But you guys proved it to me. Don't tell him how smart he was!
  • You said it! This is one incredible group of people and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it. I too have realized that Social Media is here and... here to stay!

You're right BSB. I've come a long way, from being totally uninterested to enjoying the forum and reaping benefits, especially after seeing Sawhorse here and meeting folks like Lee Ann. I have adapted to and appreciate the civil tone on Hometalk. The only isssue I have is that I want to check out the latest buzz before attending to things like proposals and invoices. CP
