Replace Your Light Fixture for Under $20 With No Wiring!

We finished renovating the front porch well over a year ago, but still hadn't replaced the front porch light! I saw a wire pendent basket and realized it would be a cheap and easy way to replace the fixture....with no wiring!
Here is the wire basket and a Edison light bulb that "replaced" the other fixture.
This was the light fixture before. I see this picture and can't believe I let it stay that way for so long!
All I did to get this wire basket on was to unscrew the old lightbulb, and screw the new lightbulb on over it. Since it is not actually made for this I used a simple wire to wrap around the top and secure it. That way it wouldn't get lopsided.
....and that's it! Pretty easy and simple and I didn't have to wait for the hubs to wire anything in!

BRILLIANT! I love your open basket light cover. I live in Houston where bugs, bugs, and more bugs accumulate in my domed light blocking light and looking yukky. Your open basket idea will eliminate the problem. Am heading to my Lowe's today to look for an open basket pendant. Thanks for such a clever idea.
