Teaching how to paint/stain furniture

I am looking for someone in my area of Ct. to teach me how to paint/ stain furniture. To learns how to refinish/repurpose furniture such as hutches, dressers,tables etc. Does anyone no where I could learn this in my area?

Hands on work is the best way to learn in my book. But having some good reference materials will also give you some great tips. In my 30 plus years of woodworking, custom furniture and so on.
