Is your city banning plastic bags, but allowing the stores to sell you one if you forgot your bags? Maybe you just want less plastic in your house. Do you drink wine? The grocery stores will give you the bag to carry the bottles when you buy six. The bag is free! and the bottles of wine are 10% off (sometimes more) when you buy six. They are handy to tote your wine bottles from home to party, but if you accumulate quite a few, they are just taking up room. So why not reuse them for environmentally safe bags for your shopping trips.
Here's what you have
This is a fabric bottle carrier with six compartments for toting wine.
Here's what you need
Your fabric bag and a pair of scissors - simple!
Cut out the insides
Start by cutting through the inside dividers to the bottom (which is usually not attached to the bottom) If you want to leave one spot for a wine or juice bottle purchase - just don't cut out that portion
turn the bag inside out
Once you turn the bag inside out, you can trim all the excess material and make a neat inside.
Here is the bag all trimmed and ready to use
here is the bag all trimmed out and ready for market. Most of these bags are washable, making it even more economical.
Stuff your bags into one outer bag and you're ready to go shopping. . Keep these in your car (it fits nicely under the seat and out of the way) and you'll always be ready! Happy Shopping
