DIY 'Bathing Beauties' Bar Backsplash
This poor wet bar - the closest my husband has to a "man cave" in our new home - sits in our TV room and was just so sad-looking. Armed with a can of paint and a free photo, it went from eyesore to conversation piece!
Our TV room has a beach-y vibe going on so when we stumbled upon a FREE photo from the Library of Congress of a group of 'bathing beauties' from the 1920s, we knew it would make an awesome backsplash.
After calling every single graphic printer in town and getting nowhere, I turned my search online where I discovered a very cool new material called Photo-Tex Adhesive Polyester Fabric. Essentially what I wound up ordering was a giant decal that could be re-positioned and removed innumerable times.
So after a coat of fun color to the cabinets, the 'bathing beauties' are an immediate conversation piece as folks wait for their craft beverage or creative cocktail! A minimal investment of time and effort has created an innovative back splash alternative to tile.
