Guest Room Refresh - On the Cheap

After several years of the guest room being the place for all the furniture that had no other home, it was time to give it a cohesive look and upgraded feel. I wanted a crisp, clean, white and red Scandinavian kind of feel. I used Craigslist finds, new plug-in wall sconces (my BFF's of decorating,) some simple DIY's, thoughtful finishing touches, and shopped my own basement to round this room out. Full details on the blog. Guest room is ready! Come on over! (I might be napping in there, actually...nevermind.)
It was beige, and sad, and had the particleboard headboard we bought for our first Real Grown Up Apartment. We all make mistakes. It's better now.
Wall decor for this room was ridiculously simple. I painted a word on a scrap of wood I had. Please know that this is supposed to read as Artsy and not Lazy. Thank you for your understanding.
It's cheery and bright and So Much Better! (and absolutely looks like this right now, I promise, and does not at all have recently unpacked suitcases, Halloween decorations, or outgrown clothes from my children in there. Just focus on the pretty pictures, people. And kindly give me 48 hours notice before attempting to sleep here.)

So much more welcoming, good job. I love your little sign and am going to add it over the hooks behind my daughters bedroom door.
