#diylikeaboss Curbside Chairs Remade Into a Bench

Shoppe No. 5
by Shoppe No. 5
My neighbor tossed out these dining room chairs. I immediately knew what I would do with them
I took off the seats and got to work. I can use the wood from the seats for another project. Nothing goes to waste around here.
Using wood from pallets I created a seat across the chairs. Then I used primer so the original finish would not bleed through.
I braced the bottom
I painted with the chairs with a base coat of gray DIY chalk paint, and then with a couple coats of white DIY chalk paint. The piece was sanded to bring out the gray and give it a distressed finish. The final step was to wax with clear wax and a bench was born.

How did you attach the seat boards to the chairs? Also how were the braces attached? I love how it turned out!
