Greetings All,

I'll be going into the 3rd growing season of TiftBlair Centipede we planted from seed. It's doing pretty well with the exceptions of various weeds. I've been told not to fertilize it or risk killing the turf. I know some of my HomeTalk friends can suggest something and when to apply. Would Feb. be a good time while the turf is still dormant? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wait until the temps go back up again for a couple of days strung together in the 60's then you can spray Image for the poa annua. It will not be a fast kill. Image works from the root up , so you may not see results for around 10 days. You can also use a product with the active ingredient 'Atrizine 4L' for a faster kill on the broadleaf weeds such as chickweed and henbit. It works from the top down so you will see a little faster results. In April-May I suggest you use a Weed&Feed designed specifically for Centipede grass.
