We have about 30 plus large pinecones that my Aunt brought us back from Alabama and I need to do something with them! They are from 6 to 9" tall. Any craft ideas would be appreciated!!

I'm saving ALL sizes, in preparation for our 2016 Christmas tree. I'll be screwing 3/4in. cup hooks, into the top of ea. cone, & tying a plaid ribbon around ea. to hang from the tree. Using ALL natural materials & decorations. Twine & burlap for draping, etc etc. We did this once when our son was young & it turned out gorgeous. Even strung real popcorn.

There are numerous post on pine cones. Wreaths, trees, potpourri, etc. Just make sure you bake them first to rid of any insects that may be hiding.(If you haven't already)

They're nice as a door hanging decorated and hung from ribbons. Also, perfect tiny Christmas trees. or packed with peanut butter and bird seed hanging outside as a bird feeder. If they are stable enough, they would make very interesting candle holders.

@Darla We did the "bird seed hangings" one year with our 5 granddaughter's. They all had a "blast" doing that, though rather messy!! But, the birds thanked us for sure!! :) I will be checking out the other sights that all have recommended and I'm sure that I can do something with them, just didn't want to throw them away!!
