Wall Mounted TV Console
Build an Ikea knock-off wall mounted TV console cabinet for less than $30, far less than Ikea!
Oriented strand board?! Whaaaa...?
This is photo is so embarrassing. I wanted so badly for this simple clean Ikea shelf to work out under the TV but alas, clearly it was not meant to be. What a mess. The day I gave this a disappointed stare, an Ikea email popped up with the perfect inspiration.
I drew up my idea then dashed to Home Depot to get some OSB with the knowledge that they'll cut it for me. Sure makes for faster and easier assembly.

Next were the dividers slash supports...
Then finally the top and a design addition, a support in the center for the top shelf. My perma-shadow there, checking my work as usual.
The doors are 1/2" MDF which I slathered in three coats of satin white paint. I drilled out finger holes rather than use knobs as the pass-through area between this and the coffee table is tight, a highly trafficked dog path.
After the console cabinet thingie was attached to the wall, I put the doors on. Being a solo DIY'er, gotta find the paths of least frustration! ;) Once everything was up and done, I smeared the OSB planes and edges in Howard Feed-n-Wax for a nice finish.
Best part? The husband loves it. Loves it! Yay! Can't beat a custom cabinet for less than $30, far cheaper than Ikea! Be sure to click the link below to read more about this project as well as so many others!

Wow i was shocked on the storage container idea ,cause my mother in law always reused a lot of stuff other people just through out and i do say she had a really good imagination for all of her

May I ask why you didn't use the original shelf as the top of your cabinet? It was already securely attached to the wall, etc.
