Before and After

Historic Shed

I find it fun to see what professional designers and builders do with their own homes, so I thought I'd share our own most recent remodel, which has been going on for 6+ years now. We bought the house because it had simple lines and a great location. There are only a few surfaces (inside closets) that haven't been redone inside and out.
The rear of the house - we saw potential. And a canal that lead directly to the Gulf.
The rear of the house with a new roof over the porch (tremendous help with our AC bill!) and new railing. the landscaping has already grown up quite a bit and I have a cottage garden along the area under the deck.
The yard was mostly full of weeds and prickers. It's a pie-shaped lot; this photo was taken from the point.
The yard with the pool and landscaping. There is now a pool pavilion in the grassy area.
Pool pavilion in place.
A close-up of the porch remodel, plus new windows, a smooth coat of stucco throughout and some other improvements.
The front before we did any work.
Exterior stairs on the front of the house - very annoying when it rained since the drip line rain down the entire set of stairs.
A new enclosed stair, new windows and trim and a much more pleasant experience bringing in the groceries.
Living Room - only the floors have been redone so far in this photo. The walls and ceiling all came with a horrific texture, so we had to skim coat all everything.
New tongue and groove ceiling, windows and French doors, wainscoting.
Complete with our clutter.
