I am looking for a light color grey that is a warm tone. So many are grey-green or muddy looking.
Thanks

This is a custom grey color I created. It is 72 drops of black per 1 gal of white paint. This way there are no undertones.
  • The best way I have found is to go and pick up 5 or 6 samples in each gray you find and take them home and tape them to walls in the room you are going to paint and watch as the sun reflects what the color will be. in the store the fluorescent lighting is awful for figuring out color tones. Or buy a couple samples of paint for around $3 and paint a patch on each wall about 2 ft x 2ft to get a better idea. This will also give you an idea of how it will look with your trim too. Lighting can change the color. good luck

You can get small samples at Home Depot for a few dollars.I recently just did that for a small bathroom that has no natural light.

I just love Shermin Williams Mindful Gray. I just painted my entire downstairs this color. It looks different in every room. It also looks good with oak. I don't see the green or blue undertones in this paint and believe me I had a ton of samples and sections of different colors on my walls.

We built a new house this fall and I picked a great gray color for my boys bedroom. Then we painted and it's the most perfect gray, I loved it so much I painted my whole open floor plan walls the same. It's called Collonade gray from Sherwin Williams.

Try Sherman Williams paint, I had their decorator come out will all the color swatches of gray and she told me with my carpet what color would look the best, I had 3 to choose from it cost's $100 and you get a $50 dollar coupon toward your paint, so it really was only 50 and believe me they give you an hour and will help with other rooms also on that visit. It was the best investment as I have screwed up a lot on paint colors and cost me a lot morein the long run. Good Luck!!!

Gray is not a warm color. It is a cool color. You can't make it warm.
