Painting a Whimsical Chair, With Free Pattern

Medium
Have you ever wondered how you could paint a whimsical chair when you have no idea what you're doing? Better yet, you decide to skip this idea and just buy one already painted! It's actually easier than you can imagine. I have directions, along with a free printable pattern for you.
This is the finished chair. Actually, I don't have any before photos, but I found it in an attic at an estate sale, literally for a few dollars. It was already painted and I wasn't about to sand or remove any of the old paint. Instead, I painted a primer over everything. Then using just regular red craft paint that you can buy from any craft store, I painted a couple of coats over and under the chair.
After everything dried, I stared painting flowers and leaves. I usually start right in and don't have a pattern. But for the free printable pattern I'm including, just get some graphite or transfer paper and lay it on your chair and trace around my pattern.
This chair was in such bad shape, I had my husband cut a new seat for it and I bought new, shiny tacks for the seat.
As I was painting I decided to bring a long stem down one of the front legs of the chair.
After everything has dried, put a couple coats of a satin varnish over it. I have the free printable and further directions on my blog.
