    That's pretty cool. I just tried it with a random web image, and it seemed to work pretty nicely. Photoshop and Illustrator have been able to "color sample" for years. Not sure why a paint company didn't think to use the same technology a long time ago. If you are using your own images, it is really important to use the right lighting and make sure your computer is fairly well-calibrated. if the colors are off in the photo, it will throw the color chips way off.

    Great tip! I actually painted my own walls last year and there is a reason why I didn't post that picture here :) Should have used something like this first.
  • SW and BMW have their color app that helps choose colors after you take a pic with your iPhone. Very cool app, help match existing paint color when you don't know the name.
