Ikea Frosta Stool Rustic Makeover

This makeover isn't to everyone's taste... certainly not my husbands but I like it ;)
I had two Ikea Frosta stools sitting around in my house that I felt needed a change.
I haven't got proper side tables for my guest bedroom. Not yet. I just haven't found the side tables that I feel are "just right" so when my in laws where coming to visit I needed a quick solution.
Since my stools where sitting there collecting dust I decided to give them a little makeover. My guest room is a very light cream colours (not my favourite but it's a rental) and the bed is white and also the curtains. I tend to go for white a lot so I wanted a little change. Rather than making it white or a light colour like a pastel blue I went with a dark finish.
Once I had painted the dark colour on the stools I distressed them to give them a rustic/worn look. This still is not meant to look perfect but the imperfections of the distressed finish is what I like about them. Now they sit as small bedside tables until I find the right bedside tables for my guest bedroom :)
