Love Antique Glass Door Knobs? Make Them Into a Towel or Coat Rack!

Whenever I find an antique glass door knobs for less than $5, I snag them up. I love them, and I finally put some of them to good use in this towel rack for our bathroom. I found a piece of pine that was pulled out of an 1800s farmhouse. It seemed to be the perfect choice for my rustic towel rack.
Originally, I had planned to use all of the different vintage door knobs I've collected, but then decided to add an industrial element with some rope cleats instead.
To attach the glass knobs, I found a bolt at the hardware store that screwed into the back of the glass knob perfectly. Then, I drilled a hole and made a larger hole to countersink the head of the screw so it lay flush against the back of the board.
Brackets for hanging, placed on the back of the board in the same place as where the studs were in my wall.
I love the look of the knobs, without all the bulk of a dummy spindle I've seen used before to create coat racks. I redid my entire bathroom with a rustic/industrial feel, for less than $200. You can click on the link below to see the complete tutorial and the bathroom.
