How can you identify a makers mark when it's only a chinese letter?

have a ceramic/porcelain( looks like an umbrella stand),said to be 60 yrs old and was wondering how to find out more about it.

Perhaps if you post a few photos of the stand and if you can the marking someone will be able to help you out. lots of great folks here on HT that have figured out some really difficult pieces in the past for other members.
