Painted Fingerprint Heart Pots

by Holly Lefevre
I made these sweet pots years ago, and they are still my absolute favorite holiday craft EVER. Every time I see my babies sweet little fingerprints as hearts, my heart melts. They are so easy to make. And just put a special someone's favorite plant in them and you have the perfect heartfelt Valentines gift! I happen to love mine so much, that I always have my pots out on display! decor
The supplies are very simple and you may already have them on hand. These cuties take no time at all to make.
I used DecoArt patio Paints, Terra Cotta pots (4"), paint brush, and some cute little fingers!
Add the fingerprints. Dab a finger in the desired paint color and diagonally to the left, press it (lightly) onto the pot. Repeat, but angle your fingerprint to the right.

Add pretty fun plants and you have a great gift, centerpiece, or decor item (I keep mine out always).

I did this with my 2 kids right after 9/11. Still have them, my sweetest treasure

Be sure to seal the pots before you paint them or the paint will chip off within a couple of years. I made that mistake when I started painting my flower pots. Also, put the child's name and date on the pot to make it a keepsake.

Great idea for the name and date. Just FYI, using patio paint, I have had these for years and they still look pretty perfect. However, if you want to get extra safe, sealing shouldn't hurt.
