    It depends on which part of the country you live in. Lime deposits are hardened minerals. Depending on where you get your water, they may contain different minerals, some has more calcium, some has more sodium, etc. they all react differently to different acids and different strengths of acids. The acid in lemon juice may not be enough for your problem. But, of course, if lemon works, we should use it instead of commercial products.

    I love cleaning with lemons! You can also get dry battery acid out of electronics with lemons. Rub on it and put new batteries in, and voila! Item works again!
